... Sneak Peek ...

I have a second batch of greeting card designs ready to print for The Paper Nut (to shop current products, see "shop" section of my site or visit my Etsy shop). Stay tuned to see the finished products! These will be letterpressed with metallic inks, which I am very excited about. I have so much I want to do, but have a limited budget. So please buy my stuff so I can make more!

Studio on Fire

I was looking through all my inspiration files yesterday and discovered I have not yet done a post for Studio on Fire. "Oh dear," I thought. Better get a it up ASAP. Maybe you've seen this stuff, maybe you haven't (I immediately recognized Laurie Demartino's letterhead when I first perused thier work). What are they? An award winning design house in Minneapolis, doing over-the-top fabulous letterpress work, either for clients, or entirely their own. They say of themselves,

We bring a keen synergy of design sensitivity and production knowledge to our projects. We are backed by full, in-house modern letterpress printing capabilities. We collaborate with creative firms, printers, and individuals to produce work with a tactile and distinctively modern edge.

Most of the designs here have been around for awhile, but they look as fresh as ever to me. Their body of work is a bizarre combination of frightening, graffiti-like cartoon illustrations, and adorably charming. I prefer the adorable. You can gawk in awe at their fabulous client work, or shop their fabulous cards, stationery, and calendars. Anyone's birthday coming up?

Dee & Lala

I am in LOVE. I just discovered Dee & Lala while doing my usual round of Etsy's letterpress products. Hyper-adorability on each perfectly polished design. Please share in my extreme joy by visiting deeandlala.com. Their cards are sold on etsy right here.

2 For the Show

A couple of fine new finds on Etsy. I absolute LOVE these cards and prints. What do you think? Also, just as a matter of curiosity (albeit purposeful curiosity), if you were to spend you hard-earned dollars on some letterpressed products, what would you be most likely to buy? A calendar? Limited edition print? Birthday card? Custom work? I find myself most tempted by the art prints.

Keep it Simple: Linda & Harriett

I have been working exhaustively on my stationery and announcement line. Much of this time has been spent meticulously studying existing companies. Countless hours of perusing everything I can get my hands on has brought me to the point where few things grab my attention. Linda & Harriett is truly a breath of fresh air. And why? Because it's so simple. It comes as no surprise that this is a Manhattan-based studio; New York breeds the talent for clean, confident, clever work. Those of us here on the green West coast will appreciate their "redesigned" pieces, which make use of their letterpress misprints. Clever, clever, clever.
