These are my faves of the staff picks for Veer's fonts. So fabulous. I'm always itching for beautiful new display and script typefaces because they are the quickest to get overused.

~ Font I Want ~

Font Shop is showing off one of their newest script fonts, Nelly. I want. It's exactly what I've been looking for. Should I buy it? Should I?

= Playful Type =

I'm published by Gestalten again! This FABULOUS book is just came out. They sent me a copy and it is wonderful. This is the second edition of Playful Type, a compilation of design projects using type in VERY creative ways. And there's my alphabet! Woo hoo!

<{ Alphabet Poster Premier }>

Well, it's here! Finally. My decorative alphabet poster is up in my Etsy shop...and up on my living room wall (someday I'll put it in Ivy's room...when she has a room). I ended up going with a giclee print rather than a silkscreen; the details, many ink colors, overlapping shapes and other factors made the decision for me. Honestly, it looks FABULOUS. Exactly what I was hoping for. The poster is printed on Arches watercolor paper and is 18 by 26 inches.

:: Fabulous Free Font ::

Fontshop is handing out the regular weights of Museo, Museum Slab, and Museo Sans! Go get 'em (you'll need to make an account). I highly recommend getting on Fontshop's email list so you can find out when they have new fonts AND new free fonts. These are fonts that you normally have to buy (so they're not cruddy "free fonts" they are real fonts for free). Here are some beautiful new script fonts they showed off in the latest email:

My sister works at Crate & Barrel, so I'm always keeping an eye on what cool things they have. Land of Nod (their kids line) has so many great products and ideas to get your kid away from the TV and doing fun interactive things. Here are some of my finds to make learning letters and words more fun (for everyone).

All done! Finally. Now I just have to get a silkscreen artist to print these for me. I really want the print quality to be tops, and the final artwork to be large-scale. I'm planning to produce the posters in a boyish-color palette as well.

Sesame Street was once the foundation for truly great art, music, comedy, and even social and political principles. Now it is basically, as one YouTube commenter stated, "a babysitter for suburban toddlers." Sadly true. Elmo is sure cute, but I miss the SS we grew up on. Check out this beautiful ABC video.

A handful more of my decorative letters! My apologies to those who are still awaiting F, H, K, L, M, Q, and V. Another post or two and they will be ready! I plan to first make the poster available as a digital print (much more economical, which I am sure is appealing to most). A version will be the pink-dominated color palette I've been showing, and another in more boyish hues.

I've finally started working on my display alphabet again, destined to be made available as a silkscreen print. I've had so many requests for this to get done, so I hope to make it happen in the next couple weeks. Just have to find a printer! These are a few of the letters I've recently finished. I went through all the Alphabet posters being sold on Etsy, and I'm amazed. I have been wanting to design an ABC print myself, but check out the competition! Now I just need to decide which one I want to buy! Note that some of these come in different colors, so visit the original shops.
