New Halloween Freebie

Here is a free owl pumpkin design, which I created last night for our own family carving night. I wanted to make this a downloadable PDF as I have in freebies past, but I don't know how to do it without my hubbie's help, so we'll just do this instead. Click on the art above and it should bring up the large 8X10 version to drag to your desktop (you may need to click "show original" and zoom in). You can rescale the art in your own computer programs. Feel free to repost this art or distribute it...just don't sell it or use the art for anything you're selling. Enjoy!

I have left this blog hanging for almost a week because we've MOVED. Martha Stewart?...wrong! All these cute ideas come from the Betty Crocker website. The great thing about them (besides being very clever and fun) is they involve boxed mixes and simple embellishments...aka easy. You can browse lots of recipes for creative birthday cakes, Halloween and Thanksgiving treats, and many other holidays. I think I'm going to try the Spooky Brownies.

I saw these great little pumpkins today on Etsy, from Pumpkin Hollow, and thought they were a nifty find. These have Tim Burton written all over them.

DIY: Glittered Pumpkins

No joke, I actually got this project from Martha Stewart Living. Visit this link and you'll find the directions for how to make your very own spangly glittered pumpkins. It is really very easy. Also, I did this with a large group, so I ordered glitter wholesale from this craft supply website: KitKraft. Make sure you use the ultra-fine glitter, not just fine, because it won't stick as evenly. Also, about 3-4 tablespoons of glitter is enough to do one very small, 4-5" dim, pumpkin. These turn out so well and they are so easy! However, next time I'm going to find some fake pumpkins to glitterfy, because it's a shame these will go bad in a few weeks.
